Offut Airforce Base, Omaha Nebraska
In 2005 Glacier assisted a New York based company with the installation of a new aircraft hydrant fuel system. Glacier’s work included excavation, temporary shoring, backfill and compaction of approximately 7,800 feet of trench for installation of fuel distribution piping located on the aircraft apron. Glacier was also responsible for demolition and disposal of twelve 50,000 gallon, one 10,000 gallon, and two 2,000 gallon jet fuel UST’s and associated above and belowground piping.

EVR Upgrades, Northern Californa
During an eight-month period, Glacier completed secondary containment and piping upgrades at twenty-eight Northern California sites for this national convenience store/service station operator. Stage I Enhanced Vapor Recovery was installed at each site. Work included removal and replacement of concrete pavement, dispensers, dispenser pans, tank sumps, coaxial pipe and fittings. At five of the sites, existing underground tanks were removed and replaced with double wall brine filled fiberglass tanks from 8,000 to 15,000 gallons.

Tank Removals, Tatoosh Island Washington
Glacier was contracted by the US Coast Guard for the removal of 2 UST’s, and 3 AST’s at Tatoosh Island. The project provided a unique logistical challenge in that all equipment, supplies, and personnel had to be transported to and from the island by helicopter. Site work centered on the cleaning and demolition of a 45,000 gallon AST. A total of 5,335 gallons of liquids, 11 tons of scrap steel, and 75 tons of petroleum contaminated soil were air lifted to a mainland staging area where they were loaded for transportation, recycling or disposal.
